Professional training at a price you can afford

FVAF provide a wide array of FREE or heavily subsidised training throughout the year to meet the needs of groups and individuals within the voluntary and community sector.

In 2016 FVAF made a substantial improvement on the amount of quality training it provides to the Voluntary and Community Sector, with over 60 groups and 250 individuals directly benefitting from this service. This is largely due to the Forest of Dean District Council heavily subsidising courses for the youth sector and the new way in which we market ourselves.

Please see below a short list of forthcoming training events.

On top of the training outlined above, FVAF also deliver in house training on a number of topics, including Mailchimp and Social Media Training and Trustee Training. This year FVAF have also enabled other groups and individuals with expertise to run their own training, for example surveying interest and then acquiring funding for Creative Educational Projects to deliver Basic Computer Skills Workshops in the Forest of Dean to vulnerable and isolated people. We also advertise training from other organisations for the benefit of our groups and were pivotal in Barnwood Trust brining some of their You’re Welcome Workshops to the Forest of Dean.

We currently provide training in the following:

  • Safeguarding Children and Young People Level Two
  • Food Safety in Catering Level Two
  • First Aid Level Two, Level Three and Pediatric First Aid Level Three
  • Managing Volunteers
  • Marketing
  • Safeguarding Adults Level Two
  • Manual Handling

and many more...

We have trained hundreds of people over the past 12 months with a 100% satisfaction rate!
