Creating a Stronghold for Nature and Raising Cultural Awareness in the Forest of Dean with Foresters' Forest

The voluntary action centre for the Forest of Dean

We are a National Lottery Heritage Fund Landscape Partnership programme, formed from an association of partner organisations and local community groups within the Forest of Dean. Our aim is to raise awareness and participation in the built, natural and cultural heritage that makes our Forest special.

There are lots of things to see, do, explore and get involved in, so we hope you’ll come and join us in a range of activities, volunteering opportunities and events. For further information please vist our dedicated website

In a nutshell though, the Foresters’ Forest Programme is based around five themes:

Our Stronghold for Nature, Exploring our Forest, Revealing our Past, Celebrating our Forest, Securing our Future.

Each of these themes has a range of projects that uncover, share and celebrate our heritage. There are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in learning about and protecting our special forest, so we hope you’ll come and join us!

Visit the Foresters' Forest official website for way more information on this great project

Voluntary Support

Since forming in 1994 we have developed a reputation for encouraging, embracing and enhancing community action throughout the Forest of Dean.

Many community groups within the Forest of Dean see FVAF as the first point of contact with regards to setting up new groups or activities. As a result we contributed significantly to the creation of 10 new groups throughout the year.

Never miss out on another volunteering opportunity in or around the Forest of Dean.
