Forest Compass

The voluntary action centre for the Forest of Dean

The Forest of Dean is home to hundreds of social and activity groups of all kinds from baby groups to memory cafes. Sadly many people who could benefit from such groups are unaware of the amazing opportunities on their doorstep.

Forest Compass is a physical and online directory of some of the many regular activities available throughout the Forest of Dean. We are working extremely hard to finish this directory before the end of 2019 so please come back soon to check for updates. In the meantime please see below for an example of what the content will look like.

If you have an activity or group that you would like to advertise for FREE, please get in touch on 01594 822073 or e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Voluntary Support

Since forming in 1994 we have developed a reputation for encouraging, embracing and enhancing community action throughout the Forest of Dean.

Many community groups within the Forest of Dean see FVAF as the first point of contact with regards to setting up new groups or activities. As a result we contributed significantly to the creation of 10 new groups throughout the year.

Never miss out on another volunteering opportunity in or around the Forest of Dean.
