Know your Patch Network

Supporting Strong and Thriving Communities
with Know Your Patch

Know Your Patch connects the Voluntary and Community Sector, Statutory Services and local residents in a way which creates better ways of working.

The Forest KYP provides the opportunity for community organisations and groups to link together and work collaboratively for the benefit of those they serve - whether they are voluntary or statutory. It meets fortnightly on a 6-week cycle - sharing updates and key information, as well as discussing pertinent topics.

Meetings are fortnighly - two meetings in a 6-week cycle are usually a short form of one hour (from 10- 11am) during which there is a short presentation or two. And  after that attendees can share urgent updates of current projects, meetings and important information; the third meeting in the cycle is a two-hour meeting (12am - 12noon). This is based round a longer presentation after which members have the opportunity to deliver a brief overview of what their organisation does and in-depth updates of current projects.

We host in-person quarterly events throughout the Forest of Dean where we invite stakeholders to join the discussion around what matters in their community and how services and voluntary sector groups can help support this. Every Know Your Patch event is FREE and open to anyone that wants to be part of the conversation. If you'd like to attend please call on 01594 822073 or email FoDKYP@fvaf.org.uk

We also send regular e-mails and updates to our Know Your Patch Network regarding what's going on in the Forest of Dean. If you would like to join this network, please subscribe here.

Thanks to funding from Gloucestershire County Council, Know Your Patch is also available in every other District in Gloucestershire. If you would like to find out more about these please visit here.

Spring/Summer Programme 2025

Welcome back to the Spring/Summer 2025 sessions in the Forest Know Your Patch network.

We continue with the mixture of shorter sessions (from 10-11am) and longer sessions (from 10am until noon) - providing the opportunity for a more in-depth look at topics. The latter also provide a platform for attendees to share information about their work and current developments and partnerships.

We have included a live event in Cinderford, in the heart of the Forest, at the end of May, and look forward to meeting as many of you as possible at that networking event.

If you would like to deliver a presentation at a forthcoming meeting or there is a topic that you would like to be addressed, please contact Teresa Rose, FKYP Facilitator at fodkyp@fvaf.org.uk to discuss this further.

We look forward to seeing you in the forthcoming weeks.
